. VELS University, Chennai, invites applications for admission to full time and part time Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program offered in the various areas of study for the session 2016.
Scholarship details:
. Number of scholarships: 20
. Scholarship worth of Rs. 7500/- per month is for a period of two years for those with M.Phil and 3 years for others who do not have M.Phil degree.

COURSE AND ELIGIBILITY
Eligibility:
. For Full Time PhD Program: Candidates who have qualified for masters degree with not less than a second class or as equivalent grade and in the case of examination where classification does not exist, a minimum of 50% of marks in the qualifying examination in the subjects in the faculties of Arts, Science, Fine Arts, Indian and other languages, Management, Commerce, Engineering, Para Medical Sciences etc., and CA, CFA, ACS or ICWA degree.
. For Part Time Ph.D Program: Any citizen of India irrespective of his/her employment status, and working within Tamilnadu who wishes to pursue doctoral research.

. Application form will also be issued by the University office on payment of Rs.1100/- or through post by paying an additional amount of Rs.100/- ie., a total of Rs.1200/- in the form of DD drawn in favour of " The Registrar, Vels University" payable at Chennai.
. The duly filled in application along with all enclosures should be submitted to the university office either in person or through post.
Selection Procedure:
. Candidates will be selected on the basis of performance in the common entrance examination and Viva-Voce conducted by the concerned department.
